Even though entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the last 16, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were no match even for a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.
Control Asserted from the Start
In spite of heavy rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A flowing move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple finish.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the referee waved away the protests.
The formerArsenal striker did not have wait long to find his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's effort had hit the post.
The home side were clinging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
